Dear Editor-in-Chief,
I am writing to demand an immediate retraction, correction, and public apology for the numerous false and defamatory statements published in the article titled "'I want her to worry about who's waiting on the corner': How one man uses Facebook to frighten his children's mother and why police do nothing," authored by Stacy St. Clair and Joe Mahr, and published on July 7, 2024.
The article is replete with egregious falsehoods and fabricated quotes attributed to me, Micah Berkley, which have severely damaged my reputation, subjected me to public contempt, and caused substantial emotional and professional harm. The specific false statements and quotes are as follows:
FALSE QUOTE: "I hear she's scared. She should be scared. She should be terrified. I want her to worry about who's waiting on the corner whenever she walks outside."
CORRECTION: I never made this statement. This is a complete fabrication that misrepresents my character and intentions.
FALSE QUOTE: "This is what happens when you make a nerd mad."
CORRECTION: I never made this statement. This quote is entirely fictional and does not reflect my words or actions.
FALSE QUOTE: "The girls are part of my brand. Everyone loved seeing a Black dad being so involved with his children."
CORRECTION: I never made this statement. This is a misrepresentation of my relationship with my children and my motivations as a father.
FALSE QUOTE: "This ends with me getting my kids back. There's no other option."
CORRECTION: I never made this statement. This quote falsely implies threatening behavior on my part.
FALSE CLAIM: I was featured in the Miami Herald about using AI to change the branding industry.
CORRECTION: I was featured in the Miami Herald for my work with Youth and AI, not for changing the branding industry.
